The farm Azienda
Agricola Brunetti
is
situated at Collemezzano
in the municipal district of Cecina,
in the province of Livorno.
The
Brunetti
farm is extending over
25 hectares land, cultivated with orchards, olive groves and
vineyards. The land is practicable over small roads also by bike.
In the beginning of September, when the grapes reach the right degree of
ripening and, depending on the wine they are intended for, starts the
vintage.
The grapes are picked by hand, collected in boxes and
carried in the wine cellar, where takes place the wine-making process and
in the end the bottling, everything supervised with greatest care by
oenologists and the owner the and winegrower Luigi Brunetti.
The wine is produced by the best types of vines: Sangiovese,
Cabernet, Syrah, Chardonnay, Fiano and Greco.
Because of the vicinity to the sea as well as the warm and dry climate, to
the vines is conferred a unique taste. Some wines are destined for aging
in barrique barrels and finally have to undergo a refinement in the bottle.
The
olive harvesting takes immediately place after the vintage. The
olives are hand-picked and then put into small boxes to be carried within
the next 24 hours to the oil mill for processing.
The obtained oil is of an intense green colour and the smell also very intense,
recalling the smell of fresh olive paste and freshly cut thistles. Of rich
taste in the mouth, tasted alone, the oil shows all the characteristic of
the Tuscan land: fresh and sweet, but at the same time spicy.
All the farm products are also offered to the guests of the Agrihotel
Elisabetta. They can purchase the products directly on the spot.
